Dream with the Just in Time Choirs

On Saturday April 27th, join us at the Sid Williams Theatre at 7 pm and do a little dreaming with the three Just in Time Choirs. The choirs will perform swing standards such as Centrepiece and Dream a Little Dream along with pop classics from the Beatles, ABBA, The Cranberries, The Moody Blues and Hall and Oates, sprinkled with a little bit of contemporary country, some 80’s metal, and even some Canadian folk. To top it off, you’ll hear A Million Dreams from the Greatest Showman and the stirring contemporary pop piece, One Day by Matisyahu.

St Paddy’s Family Fiddle Contra Dance at the Merville Hall

On Saturday, March 16th, it is time to be bold, kiss the Blarney Stone, and scurry on over to the Big Yellow Merville hall for the Ever Famous St Paddy’s Day Contra Dance. Green music, green beer, green gills. On a Vancouver Island stopover from their (small) World Tour of the Comox Valley, the Funtime Fiddlers band will pump out the jigs and reels for their highly popular contra dances. Lead by our own ontological dance caller, June O’Cannon, you’ll not regret the decision to be Irish for the Night! All are welcome to attend this family friendly o’function.

Reel Youth Festival Arrives March 2nd in Cumberland

On Saturday, March 2nd, the Reel Youth Film Festival, in partnership with the Cumberland Community School Society (CCSS) will provide a stage for young filmmakers to showcase their work. The event takes place at Cumberland Community School, Beaufort Multi Purpose Room, and is a fundraiser for the CCSS Youth Centre.
