Spring Social Fundraising Event For Kus-kus-sum

Lift is hosting its Spring Social as a fundraising event for Kus-kus-sum at the Prime Chophouse on April 24th at 6:30 pm that anyone can attend. The focus of the event will be an estuary game where teams vie to build the most productive estuary and win awesome prizes! This game debuted in 2016 at a dinner event at Locals Restaurant. It is similar to Settlers of Catan or FarmVille except you are building an estuary. “The game was educational, fun and interactive.” Deb Lacroix of Ecofish, 2016 winner.

Hooray! It’s Spring and time for the AGM of Macdonald Wood Park Society. Please mark the date on your calendar: Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 7pm at the Comox Rec Centre, Room B. Comox Valley Land Trust and Comox Valley Regional District Partner to Protect Critical Habitat for the Endangered Morrison Creek Lamprey

The Comox Valley Land Trust (CVLT) and the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) have joined forces to protect the Morrison Headwaters Nature Preserve. The expansive, undeveloped wilderness area nestled between the Village of Cumberland and the City of Courtenay provides critical habitat for the federally and provincially endangered Morrison Creek population of the Western Brook Lamprey (Lampetra richardsoni var. marifuga), locally known as the Morrison Creek Lamprey.
