This Summer has brought us the opportunity to create more in person connections. Through our outdoor-based programming for families and youth, and weekly school garden work parties, we have found great joy in being, creating, and working together. Lake Trail Community Education Society has now been without access to a brick and mortar building for over 18 months. Despite this challenge, we are proud of the adaptations we’ve made to keep neighbourhood, community and school connected.
Many of our summer program participants (Summer Sprouters, Forest Saplings, Nature-Art Workshop, and Garden volunteers) have expressed their delight in spending time with their fellow community members. We aspire to carry on these connections into the year and into the new Lake Trail Community School space this Fall.
