The Comox Valley Airport, in partnership with Courtenay based, ARTWRX Studio Gallery,
is pleased to announce the opening of the annual Spring – Art in the Airport Exhibit.

ARTWRX (formerly Art Alchemy Studio) is an artists collective that share space and the
experience of art making. The Studio is currently open by appointment, and scheduled openings
on Saturdays 11-4, (observing pandemic protocols). ARTWRX will participate in the Central
Island Studio Tour, usually held each Spring, now scheduled for the Fall, 2021.

“Twice annually, we look forward to the arrival of new art work for the enjoyment of our
passengers,” said Comox Valley Airport’s CEO, Mike Atkins. “With all of the challenges brought
about by the pandemic, the opportunity to provide our passengers and staff with a curated
selection of high quality, original works from some of the region’s finest artists is most welcome.
The artists capture the beauty of the spectacular region we live in, inspiring hope and optimism
while we patiently await the return to normal, and can invite the public to visit the terminal.”

Due to the need to provide space for physical distancing, access to the terminal is currently
limited to passengers only, but art-lovers are invited to view the works online, where a virtual
show is available on the Airport’s website: https://www.comoxairport.com/yqq-art-collection. Most
works are available for sale by contacting ARTWRX Studio, or via the artist directly.

The ARTWRX Exhibit is on now, until mid-November.
