From one strange year to the next — thank you so much for your ongoing support!
It is hard to remember that just one year ago our biggest challenge was all the snow. Little did we know that COVID-19 would have such a significant impact on our programming and operations. But as we approach a full year of global pandemic, two things are clear:
1: Art brings us together, even when we have to be apart.
2: Our community came through and gave the support we needed to adapt, survive, and deliver the artistic programming that’s more important than ever in times like these.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who provided generous donations, volunteered, willingly wore masks and followed protocols to attend the gallery, or participated virtually in gallery events and exhibitions.
We want to especially acknowledge all the people who bought tickets for films they never got see when our film series was cancelled. Dozens of you converted those unused tickets into donations for the Gallery, and we are very grateful. Your receipts for tax deductions will get mailed out next week.
Another great example of support for the Gallery came from Cumberland Village Works, who were so generous with providing wireless headsets for our outdoor programming.
Note that were are operating on reduced hours to ensure we can fully implement our COVID protocols. We are open Thursdays to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. We can also make special appointments if you contact us at gallery@comoxvalleyartgallery.
We require visitors to wears masks (we provide free masks if you don’t have your own handy), sanitize your hands, and maintain social distancing. It’s all a little strange, but its so worth it to keep everyone safe while keeping art in our lives.
Here’s to a great 2021!
