– Comox Valley Schools is calling for nomination for a school trustee to fill
the vacated position in Area 6 – Electoral Area C, Comox Valley Regional District.

The trustee position was formerly held by Ian Hargreaves. Hargreaves officially resigned from
the Board of Education at the September public meeting.

The school trustee will serve for the remainder of the 4-year term ending November 2022.

Clyde Woolman has been appointed the Chief Election Officer and Marlene Leach has been
named the Deputy Chief Election Officer.

The District is advertising calls for nomination. The nomination period runs from 27 October to
6 November.

Nomination packages will be available at the School Board Office at 607 Cumberland Road,
Courtenay BC during regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Completed nomination documents must be delivered by hand, mail or courier to the School
Board Office.

The following qualifications for office must be met:

• Canadian Citizen
• Minimum 18 years of age on general voting day Saturday, December 12
• Resident of British Columbia for a least six months immediately before the day
nomination papers are filled
• Not disqualified under the School Act or any other enactment from being nominated for,
being elected to or holding office as a trustee, or be otherwise disqualified by law.
