Lake Trail Community Education Society (LTCES) is a dynamic not for profit organization which works in close relationship with Lake Trail Community Middle School to foster a community school model. We have a strong focus on food security and food education. Over the past several years LTCES provided a weekly salad bar program free of charge to Lake Trail students, as well as healthy snacks during outreach programming. In light of Ciovid-19 the following adjustments will be made to our food program:
We are transitioning our free salad bar program to a free healthy bagged lunch which can be prepared and distributed to students once a week.
LTCES will continue to provide healthy snacks during our outreach programming for youth.
LTCES is offering a food kit program as a substitute for our after-school cooking classes. Meal kits will be offered to youth, along with a video on how to prepare the healthy meal at home.
Lake Trail Community Education Society (LTCES) is seeking a Healthy Foods Coordinator to fulfill the three objectives above, until the end of November 2020. 116 hours are dedicated to this position, flexed over 11 weeks.
