Lake Trail Community School Garden

If you’ve driven past Lake Trail lately you’ll notice there’s been A LOT of activity happening with the construction and that things look very different than they did even a few weeks ago.

To the volunteers who came by the Lake Trail Community School Garden to help us haul, dig, sort, harvest, plant, and water as we moved a significant portion of the garden to a new location… thank you! We could have not done it without your support.

LTCES is rolling through the changes that come with the school construction while keeping our eye on the fantastic outcomes that we are striving for. These include an amazing new building in which to support students and the community, a new garden, and possibly even a multi-use outdoor classroom and learning space.

For those growing food at home, Lake Trail Community School Garden Coordinator, Elaine Codling, has nearly 30 years of organic gardening experience to share. Join the Lake Trail School Garden Facebook group to have your gardening questions answered!

Starting September 7 helmets will be required for all public skates

The Comox Valley Sports Centre beginning September 7, 2021 will require all patrons participating in a public skate to use a helmet. Helmets provide a protective layer for our thin skulls and are designed to create a surface area to absorb the force received during a fall.
