My Life Work
Poetry,
My life work,
I scribble words on paper,
Believing that somehow, somewhere,
Beyond the neural circuits of my brain,
There is a sacred spirit that dwells quietly within,
Who uses my humble words to reveal
Some truth, some universal law,
That is hidden behind feelings,
Words, and images.

My life work,
My divine purpose,
Is to share the words I have created,
Images which harmonize with life’s rhythms,
Taking me and my readers to the source of all wisdom.
I work my words until they yield the sustenance of life,
To be shared generously with those who hunger,
So we can face this barren life together
With the joy of our being,
And face death
With a smile.
