The Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) has remained open since the start of the pandemic, and we will
continue to adapt and develop new measures to protect both passengers and airport workers
from the spread of Covid-19. As always, we are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of 19
Wing in terms of keeping aerodrome operations running smoothly. Going above and beyond, 19
Wing has even fabricated specialized aircrew masks on site.

We would also like to thank our airport partners—the small businesses that provide support to the
airlines and passengers. They have reduced staffing levels, are working remotely, or have
temporarily closed. Like many frontline services, the work of our airport staff continues to facilitate
critical humanitarian work and essential travel, including medevac, military, and limited scheduled
service via WestJet to and from Calgary.

From suspending our Volunteer Ambassador program at the start of March, to enhanced cleaning
regimens, installation of plexiglass screens at counters, spaced seating and floor markers, airport
staff have been swift to ensure that current best practices are followed and new regulatory
standards implemented. Behind the scenes, new bag screening equipment is being installed
which will help reduce security wait times. HVAC systems are regularly serviced, with filters
replaced to ensure clean air flow within our terminal. Staff are using PPE and distancing when
necessary in order to carry out fueling and other operational tasks.

Passengers are doing their part too: restricting non-essential travel, adhering to isolation
directives from Public Health, maintaining social distancing within the terminal, arriving equipped
with non-medical masks for their personal use when social distancing cannot be maintained, and
asking friends and family to stay outside of the terminal for pick up and drop offs.

On June 2nd, we will welcome Pacific Coastal Airline back. They will reinstate scheduled service
to Vancouver on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing an option for those needing to connect to
the Lower Mainland. YQQ will continue to work with each of our airlines to support the gradual
return of service and safely help facilitate the economic recovery for the region.
