Comox Valley Schools has began the work to prepare for the return of elementary school students following the direction of the Premier of B.C. John Horgan and his five-stage BC Restart Plan.
The return to in-class instruction for students may be met with much anxiety. To help District parents and guardians address uncertainty around sending children back into the classroom, the District has organized an online presentation with Kim Barthel, Sending our Children to School: What does that mean after the Pandemic. Kim Barthel is a renowned author, teacher and speaker and an occupational therapist with specialties in workshop instruction including Trauma Informed Practice, mental health and other disciplinary services.
The presentation is open to all District families Thursday 21 May from 6:30 to 8 p.m. via Zoom. Pre-registration is required in order to attend this session. Space limited to 500 online participants. Register now, visit https://bit.ly/SD71_KimBarthel. All registered participants will be sent the Zoom link via email.

This means a start to return to normal. Please read Mr.Phil Minard’s letter in today Comox Valley Record regarding the COVID -19 panic, relative to cancer deaths and Opiod ODS,
By now we know this this is not the crisis as thought. COVID -19 kills old folks in unmaintained old folks facilities.Of course those who have compromised friends and family need to be careful .Cancer is an undescribable disease and chemo requires isolation.
So- now ,50% of Canadians do not trust their Governments on COVID -19. Millions think Bill Gates will benefit from the vaccine, and the next wave.
All I know is that this is not what our Federal Government and news media have made it to be- lets get back to normal, with continuing drug over doses and 70 thousand plus dying of cancer.
People back to work ,enjoying life.
