Like most organizations, LUSH Valley is closely monitoring the circumstances with COVID-19. The community’s health and well-being are our top priorities.

As the pandemic unfolds it is important that we all take measures to protect ourselves, our families and our communities to stop the spread of the virus. Self-care and care of our families are vital.

Populations needing special care and attention are older adults, folks with insecure incomes, those living with chronic illness, and those in quarantine. Not only may we experience a disruption in food supply chains, but also to the programs and food services that support the most vulnerable in our communities.

Currently, LUSH Valley is working with our partners to limit our activities to stop the spread of the virus. We will follow all directives and best practices as outlined by officials. Please watch for updates to our programming over the coming weeks.

We also know that this is the time that we need to do more. We may need to pull together our community networks and resources to support those that are impacted. This is also an important time to see firsthand the kinds of changes needed to increase resilience and equity in the food system.

We are working with our partners who are in touch with Emergency Management BC regarding mitigation of food supply disruption and will communicate further through our Facebook page as information becomes available.

For up to date reliable information we encourage you to visit the BC Centre for Disease Control’s website.

Contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your patience & support as we work together to #flattenthecurve.

P.S. It is important to strengthen our immune systems at this time, eat as healthy as possible, get lots of sleep and exercise and reach out (virtually for many) to friends and family. The sun is shining out there; this is an excellent time to plan and get ready to plant a garden.

Please take care,
