We are sad to announce this event has been canceled due to ongoing public health concerns.
The Glacier Grannies look forward to welcoming you to Art From The Attic on Sunday, March 29 from 10 – 4. The event will take place at Courtenay Legion, 367 Cliffe Avenue. Come and browse through our new and upcycled art, featuring treasures and bargains for every budget and taste. We will have a remarkable collection of works for sale including: paintings (watercolour and oil), a Japanese woodcut, sculpture, decorative pottery, photography (modern and antique), drawings, African batik, felting, quilting, embroidery, indigenous art from Canada, the United States and Australia, limited-edition prints, and stained glass. Each piece has been professionally appraised, and will be for sale below the appraised value. We are gratefully accept donations of additional art work up until March 22.
We have an exciting line-up of musicians providing entertainment during the day, and delicious home baking will be available.
All funds raised by Art From The Attic will go to the Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. We know that the world is a deeply imperfect and often unjust place. Rather than surrendering to the latest news and being overwhelmed into inaction, more than 240 grandmother groups in Canada, Australia and Britain choose to raise funds for grassroots organizations working to support those affected by the HIV & AIDS pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa. Through the Foundation, the Glacier Grannies stand in solidarity with African grandmothers who are building a future full of possibility for the children in their care and, at the same time, claiming their basic human rights from patriarchal societies.
