…and a sure sign is the increased activity behind the scenes at LUSH Valley Food Action Society!
With the help of a grant from the Comox Valley Community Foundation, we have been able to start our Fruit Tree Program earlier than usual and have introduced a new ‘Prune Along’ program.
We have been active on several committees and community initiatives relating to advocacy and food security, including the new Food Policy Council and working with School District 71/Comox Valley Schools.
We are also looking to hire a Community Garden Coordinator. It won’t be long before we are planning work bees in our wonderful Share the Harvest Community Garden, located at the corner of 6th Street and Harmston Avenue in Courtenay.
And we also have lots of fun, informative and oh so yummy Healthy Foods Program events for you to attend.
