The Comox Valley Community Foundation will be hosting its annual Community Enrichment
Awards on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 1:30pm at the Comox Community Centre, located at 1855
Noel Avenue in Comox.
Members of the public are welcome to attend as we recognize and celebrate the 2020 Community
Enrichment and Professional Development grant recipients and the work that is done by the many
non-profit organizations in our community in support of children and youth, seniors, the
environment, adults with disabilities, and our community’s most vulnerable residents.
“We will be distributing close to $330,000 to 42 distinct organizations, both our largest dollar
amount yet and the most organizations we have supported in a single year,” said Matt Beckett,
President of the Comox Valley Community Foundation. “We are extremely grateful for the
continued support we receive from our fund holders and donors who make this possible each and
every year.”
“We would also like to extend a special thank you to Vancouver Foundation for the confidence they
demonstrated in us to distribute the Robert & Florence Filberg Funds for Child Welfare and
Religious Organizations, which contributed significantly to the number of organizations we were
able to support this year,” added Beckett.
Founded in 1996, the Comox Valley Community Foundation is an independent charity registered
with Canada Revenue Agency, dedicated to enriching life in the Comox Valley forever. With the
support of local families, businesses and organizations who have created endowed funds, the CVCF
has awarded more than $3.1 million to over 170 local non-profits and 230 students.
