The results of the federal election are in. In the past year we’ve seen this government implement considerable protection measures for endangered Southern Resident orcas. It is imperative that we build on this momentum and push for continued action.
For almost 30 years Georgia Strait Alliance has been fighting to protect Southern Residents. Today the population consists of only 73 individuals – the outlook is bleak.
This government must work collaboratively with other parties to quickly develop policies and measures aligned with science and we need your help to send that message. The election is not the end of the road, it is only the beginning. It is up to us to hold our elected representatives to account.
Georgia Strait Alliance will continue to demand that strong action be taken to reverse the decline of this vulnerable population before it’s too late. Southern Resident orcas need protection measures now. Join GSA’s Orca Action Team and help us make positive change happen.
