The Comox Valley Electric Vehicle Association (CVEVA) is partnering again with Emotive BC to bring several National Drive Electric Week events to the area.

In its 5th year, National Drive Electric Week runs from September 14 to 22 and is celebrated through more than 280 public events around the world to promote electrified transportation.

CVEVA and Emotive BC have booked Simms Millennium Park for Saturday, September 21 from 11AM to 2PM for a Show and Shine display of dozens of different models of electric cars, scooters and bicycles, and test drives from local dealers.

Local owner of several electric cars and scooters, Randy Chatterjee says, “Bring your EV or your interest in an EV, and a picnic lunch or your appetite, for a chance to see and drive the future.” Some tents and chairs and a food cart will be on site.

During the week there are several evening gatherings, an EV parade through Cumberland, Courtenay, and Comox, and a no-carbon EV rally around the countryside to celebrate this important week and to draw attention to a rEVolution in sustainable transportation that could not come at a more important time in human history. EVs will help stop climate change.
