World Community (Development Education Society) is holding its  Annual General Meeting on Thursday, July 4th at 7 pm at Creekside Commons (# 100 – 2202 Lambert Drive, Courtenay).

World Community is focusing on some of the challenges, as well as opportunities, we are facing in our rapidly changing climate.  The issue of food security will likely become even more important in the coming years.

Featured speaker at the AGM will be Maurita Prato, Executive Director of LUSH Valley Food Action Society. Since 2000, LUSH Valley has been working across the Comox Valley to help people gain local food skills, knowledge and access to good food.  Come learn more about their many wonderful programs and new initiatives toward a food secure future for all.

A brief business meeting will follow Maurita’s presentation.

Refreshments will be served.  Everyone is welcome to attend. You may even win a door prize!
