Be part of this exciting annual fundraiser where downtown Cumberland comes alive with the spectacle of 4,000 racing golf balls! Over $5,500 in prizes to be won. 1st Prize: $1,000 cash.

This annual golf ball race lottery is a key fundraiser for the Cumberland Community Schools Society (CCSS). Proceeds from the event support CCSS’s registered charity efforts that provide free after-school programming, a healthy food program and a drop-in youth centre in the Village.

“Thanks to the generosity of the local business community, we have some incredible prizes lined up for this year including 3 cash prizes, Mount Washington 6ixPak tickets, BiblioTaco burritos for a month and more,” says CCSS Executive Director Sue Loveless. “Over the past 5 years our school has seen a 28% increase in enrollment resulting in increased demand for our programs. The success of this event will help to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our growing
community”.

CCSS would like to thank this year’s gold sponsors, Standing Bear Construction, Facet Custom Builders, Cloutier Matthews Chartered Professional Accountants and Gray Box Solutions Inc., along with the many other local businesses who are supporting Thunderballs 2019. The event takes place on Dunsmuir Avenue between 1st and 2nd street, 9 AM before the Victoria Day Parade and promises to be great entertainment for all ages! Tickets are $5 each, or $20 for 5, and available from Tarbell’s Deli, Seeds Food Market, Cumberland Recreation Centre, at Cumberland Village Market Day (Saturday May 20) and until 9:15 AM on event day (if not sold out).
