New School Vice Principal Positions Announced

Comox Valley Schools is pleased to announce Don McRae as a new district vice principal. Commencing February 19th, Mr. McRae will assume the position at Highland Secondary School. McRae began teaching in the school district in 1995 in a variety of subjects before taking leave to represent Comox Valley in the Provincial Legislature. He returned to the education faculty in
2017 to teach at Highland.

McRae will replace Lee McKillican who will transfer to G.P. Vanier Secondary effective February 19th. McKillican also started his teaching career with the district in 1995 at Robb Road Middle and moved to Cape Lazo until its closure. McKillican transferred to Highland and began his career as a vice-principal in 2014. McKillican will assume the position previously held by Greg Kochanuk.

Mr. Kochanuk recently accepted the position of District Vice-Principal/Associate Principal of the International Student Program.
Kochanuk has served with the district for close to 20 years teaching at Vanier, NIDES and Highland. For the last seven years he has been a vice-principal first at Highland and later Vanier.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming the three administrators into their new placements in the district.

Respectfully,

Dean Lindquist

Superintendent of Schools, Comox Valley Schools
