First Tuesday Fundraiser will be hosted by Scott Lyle and Friends with special guest Alan Jossul at the Mex Pub in Courtenay on February 5th at 7:30 pm. Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Alan has been playing and teaching guitar for most of his life. His influences abound covering a full gamut of genres from classical music to heavy-metal. He has also picked at the banjo, bass and a few other instruments and managed to make a few of these stringed things sing.

Alan’s fingerstyle, acoustic guitar playing achieves a sound that is playful and descriptive. He often performs solo but also collaborates on a verity projects with other musicians here and elsewhere. When he isn’t teaching or out with his dog, he is generally on a stage performing or in an audience appreciating and keeping the art of live performance alive and kicking.

Alan will be playing In support of Canadian Council of the Blind. The Comox Valley Chapter for the blind and visually impaired provides education and awareness of blindness throughout the community as well as encouragement and support to its members along with social and recreational activities at a local level. Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Canadian Council of the Blind and White Cane week in Canada. Comox Valley Food Bank representatives will also be on hand to accept foodstuff donations.
