The Immigrant Welcome Centre would like to introduce you to our Welcoming Communities Idea Bank, a new initiative designed to spark Campbell River and Comox Valley citizens in generating fresh ideas for building and maintaining welcoming and inclusive communities. In many regards, it is part-suggestion box, part-ideas network and part-community think-tank, giving local citizens and newcomers a chance to have their creativity recognized, rewarded and even put into practice.
The Welcoming Communities Idea Bank does this by hosting monthly Conversation Cafes at local restaurants and coffee and tea shops. The Conversation Cafes are based on a wide-range of local issues and topics that support making north Vancouver Island a welcoming place to live. Ideas generated from the Cafes each month are collected and posted on the IWC Blog, and made available to key decision-makers in the community.
Please don’t miss out on our upcoming Winter Conversation Cafe series. We’ve saved a seat for you! Come connect with friends, neighbours and community newcomers over coffee, tea, sweet and savory treats, and inspired conversations!
