Exciting news! The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development has announced a final competition for a Provincial Fossil to be added to the official Provincial Symbols of British Columbia. Support our world famous 80 million-year-old elasmosaur in joining BC’s other provincial symbols, the Spirit Bear, Steller’s Jay and Pacific Dogwood.

This marine reptile was found right here on the Puntledge River in 1988, and has been a beloved part of our museum ever since.
