Christmas Truck Parade:
On Saturday, December 1st, the Christmas Truck Parade will travel from Village Park along Dunsmuir to First Street and will be closely followed by the arrival of Santa at Village Square. The Trucks will then return and park for display (and judging) along Dunsmuir Avenue.
Upon his arrival, Santa will be located at Village Square and will be available to receive Christmas wishes. Local crafts, warm drinks and snacks will also be available for purchase.
Spectators are encouraged to vote for their favourite truck. Ballots will be available for the public by donation and can be picked up at the white information tents, located along Dunsmuir Avenue. Submitting a ballot also provides voters an opportunity to win one of many great raffle prizes.
All proceeds from the ballots and raffle will go to You Are Not Alone (YANA). The Village of Cumberland and Organizing Committee are proud to support YANA in offering support and help to Comox Valley families who need to travel for medical services for their children.
For the safety of all participants, it is requested that attendees remain on the sidewalks, and keep streets clear until otherwise directed by traffic control.

OK rant time. Tide Change put up the trigger and I’m going to react.
Well done RCMP. No problemo with the One Eyed Cyclopes, the retina burning pickup trucks or the blue lighted beater cars and those who have never figured out that they are not allowed to use their ditch lights in on-coming traffic.
But festively decorated heavy equipment? OMG. Flashing lights on 20 kpm equipment, Quelle distraction. Probably cause an epileptic fit. Better put out an all points bulletin out against that kind of dangerous stuff.
Hey RCMP – How about some enforcement of the rules of the road and get all those dangerous vehicles fixed up instead of shutting down well advertised runs of slowly moving, highly decorated vehicles. I hate the bright lights coming towards me these days. There must be rules about exactly how bright a lighting system on a new can can be? I can’t believe the ones bolted onto new vehicles are legal. I thought there was a law against running blue lights. How come there are so many of them on the road? Obviously the LED light bars are straight out illegal Personally I think there is an LED light fetish out there being catered to by the new vehicle manufacturers.
However did Cumberland manage to get those lit up vehicles back on the road again? Perhaps a police escort front and back covering the 3 block run. More overtime for the boys in blue you know.
Mothers, better keep your children well back. Safety glasses everyone. An LED light might pop and take out an eye.
OK where’s the edit button?
