BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH SPRING CLEANING – The Black Creek Community Centre hosts 2 events in 1 day!

The Black Creek Community Centre is urging locals to get into Spring Cleaning mode by hosting a combination Rummage Sale Fundraiser & Spring Clean Work Bee on May 5th. The Rummage Sale and Outdoor Work Bee will happen simultaneously between 9:30am-2:30pm at the Black Creek Community Centre, 2001 Black Creek Rd.

“We wanted to host an event with many avenues for community members to contribute.” says Events & Marketing Coordinator, Jessie Gill. The Rummage Sale Fundraiser encourages people to spring clean their homes and donate any unneeded goods directly to the centre on May 1st, 2nd and 3rd during business hours. On event day, bargain hunters are invited to peruse second hand treasures at the Fundraiser.

Alongside the Rummage Sale, a Spring Clean team of volunteers will be tackling various outdoor jobs to help maintain the community centre and grounds. “The atmosphere is going to be really motivating,” Gill predicts. Whether you are shopping or taking part in the work bee, it’s important to know that your contributions aid the Black Creek Community Association in achieving its mission to offer diverse, quality recreation and social opportunities to the valuable rural areas of the Comox Valley.

Rummage Sale attendees will be pleased to find a great selection of small furniture, clothing, sports goods, children’s items, household items, books and more! Not to mention a small volunteer run plant sale and food for sale. Forbidden Zone Pizza and Specialty Coffee Bar will be on site to ensure everyone is fueled up!
