On Saturday, April 14th, the Little Red Church in Comox will be fired up with fiddles as 5 time Grand North American Fiddle Champion, Ivonne Hernandez, tears out the tunes with the Coastline Fiddlers, a string ensemble comprised of some of BC’s top young musicians. This award-winning band has already been making a name for itself since its inception in January, 2013, and now the players are on a whirlwind tour of BC.

With fiddles, cellos, guitars and piano, the group of talented teens play a diverse and exciting repertoire. With intricate arrangements of traditional, original, and contemporary fiddle tunes from around the world, Coastline is pushing the boundaries, but is always having a great time whenever they play.

The group has opened for such notable acts as the award winning band The Fretless; Scottish fiddle/cello superstars Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas; Quebec phenoms De Temps Antan; and the American celtic group, the Katie McNally Trio. In the last couple of years, they have released their debut self titled album to rave reviews and garnered 2 Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, as well as have represented Canada at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival in Scotland in July 2015.

So, Saturday, April 14th, check out these great young musicians and prepare to tap your toes and clap your hands at the Little Red Church in downtown Comox. Tickets at the door are $20/adults and $10/youth. Doors open 7:00 pm, concert starts 7:30pm. FMI: call 339-4249, or email seabankmars@shaw.ca
