Our MLA, Ronna-Rae Leonard, is hosting a participatory community conversation about “How We Vote” and your Courtenay-Comox BC NDP Constituency Association would love to see you there!

This is an important and exciting conversation for British Columbians to engage in and your MLA and the BC government want your input!

With a survey online until February 28th and plans in development for a referendum on proportional representation later this year, there was never a better time to gather with friends, neighbours and community for an exchange of ideas and information.

What are our values about how voting and democracy works? Why is there so much interest in changing the way we vote? Why do some people have concerns and questions about changing the system? Why do others feel so passionately about changing it? And ultimately, if we agree to change, how should we decide what system we work with going forward?

Join this important conversation with the goals to:
– Build community capacity about electoral reform and the Provincial Bill
– Encourage community dialogue about democracy and electoral reform
– Increase engagement in the online survey before Feb 28th
– Provide our MLA with feedback/input from the community to bring to her colleagues

When: Wednesday, February 7th – 7-9pm

Where: Upper Florence Filberg Centre 411 Anderton Ave, Courtenay
Doors open at 6:30.

Door prizes and light refreshments.
All welcome.
