North Island Powell River MP Rachel Blaney says that gathering information about NAFTA concerns will be a focus of her work over the summer.
Discussions will be underway between Canada and the US over several issues related to NAFTA and she wants to ensure that the voices of Canadians are heard when Parliament resumes in September.
On her part, Blaney will be talking to community partners and constituents about the agreement. She has many concerns, but also wants to hear those of people in her riding.
In a media teleconference on June 26, Blaney also blasted the Trudeau government for being opaque on all matters related to NAFTA.
“We have yet to hear what this government sees as priorities in the NAFTA discussions. Canadians need to know this.”
She will present a report about her investigations to Parliament in October this year.
