Mayworks Festival
May comes rolling around and so does another Mayworks Festival. Every year they just get better and better. Here’s what we did in 2011.
The wonderful Seattle Labor Chorus was here for the May 1st Cumberland Bean Dinner, a benefit for the Cumberland Museum. Tickets were $13 for both Flo’s magic baked beans and a magical musical experience.
Two other special treats were the ArtKart Derby in Cumberland May 22 and the Bill Freisen Sculpture Garden opening on the 23 along with ‘Women and Work’ , and ‘Words and Songs’.
Finally a renowned agitprop muralist from the States Mike Alewitz came at the end of the month to conduct a workshop on banner and mural making.
